LOUISIANA PURCHASE VENTURE CAPITAL FORUM PLANNED FOR OCTOBER

BATON ROUGE, LA - The Baton Rouge Technology Council, Louisiana Technology Council, Levy-Rosenblum Institute for Entrepreneurship at the A. B. Freeman School of Business at Tulane University in Association with the Louisiana Department of Economic Development will host the "2001 Louisiana Purchase, A Venture Capital Forum" on October 22 and 23, 2001 in New Orleans, Louisiana.

The "2001 Louisiana Purchase, A Venture Capital Forum" will be a premier event for the Gulf South providing the opportunity for Louisiana entrepreneurs and businesses in a variety of technology industries to present business plans to venture capital firms from around the country. Some of the industry representation at this Forum will be technology, healthcare, medical and biomedical, communications, environmental services, industrial products and services to name a few.

Louisiana companies in the early and expansion stages of development are invited to submit business plans to forum organizers for review. The business plan submission deadline will be by 4:00 p.m., Friday, September 14, 2001. A panel will review the business plans and select the best 10 to 15 plans which merit the best opportunity to be chosen for funding by the visiting institutional investors from around the country. Selected companies will present their plans during the forum. The minimum required investment for potential deals is $500,000. Business Plan submissions can be sent to the following address:
