BRTC Moves to Bon Carre' - Jul 5, 2001
Louisiana Technology Park announced today that the Baton Rouge Technology Council will move into the LTP facility this month. BRTC's new phone number is 225.612.2137.
Baton Rouge Technology Council is a non-profit organization serving the technology-related business community. The mission of the Baton Rouge Technology Council is to promote the growth of economic development through the success of technology-based initiatives in the Greater Baton Rouge area. BRTC is committed to building the region into a leader in technology by fostering cooperation among business, government, education and the community.
It makes sense for the Baton Rouge Technology Council to be located within the Park. The mission of BRTC directly relates to that of Research Park Corporation and LTP, said Edward Ashworth, president of Louisiana Technology Park. This is another step in our efforts to generate a technology intensive environment. Several companies and organizations will be moving into the Park over the next few weeks. We are building critical mass and it is exciting to see the creative atmosphere that is developing.
We were delighted when LTP extended an invitation for BRTC to move into the Park, commented John Hightower, executive director of Baton Rouge Technology Council. The entire area is being geared to the technology industry and BRTCs mission is primarily one of assisting in the development of the tech industry in our region of the state. Being surrounded by new and existing tech firms will only enhance our efforts. BRTC is moving to LTP because it makes good business sense and we feel it will encourage growth in our organization.
BRTCs programs and meetings provide efficient means of networking within its broad membership base, which includes companies whose goals are both diverse and interdependent within the vast realm of technology. Baton Rouge Technology Councils website can be accessed at www.brtc.org.
