Live Radio Broadcast on KRVS:
The Southwest La Zydeco Festival in Plaisance will be broadcast live over the internet on www.krvs.org Saturday Sept 4th, 2004.

Zydeco Festivals summary - dates and times:

1) The Southwest La Zydeco Festival starts Friday night September 3, 2004 from 8pm - midnight in Plaisance, La (25 miles north of Lafayette). This is an outdoor event.

2) The Southwest La Zydeco Festival continues Saturday September 4, 2004 from 12 noon - midnight in Plaisance, La (25 miles north of Lafayette). This is an outdoor event.

3) There is an "Ultimate Zydeco Throwdown" festival after party on Saturday night September 4th, 2004 at the Yambilee Hall in Opelousas near the Plaisance festival site from 5pm-around 3am. This is an indoor event.

4) There is a festival on Sunday September 5, 2004 called the Creole Zydeco Festival in St. Martinville, LA (16 miles SE of Lafayette) from 10am-7pm. This is an outdoor event under a pavillion.

5) There is a zydeco fan appreciation day on Sunday Sept 5, 2004 put on by zydeco musician Thomas "Big Hat" Fields at his homestead in Mire, La from 4pm until that evening. This is an outdoor event.

6) Dog Hill Zydeco Party in Lake Charles, La Monday Sept 6, 2004 from 11am-midnight (previously BooZoo's Labor Day Party)
will be held at VFW Hall in Lake Charles, La from 11am-midnight. This is an indoor event. Located at the VFW Hall 1900 Country Rd and Nelson, Lake Charles, LA

7) The Cane River Zydeco Festival and Poker Run is in Natchitoches, La. on Sept 3 & 4th, 2004

8) There are many indoor zydeco dances at the surrounding night clubs all weekend.

CANE RIVER ZYDECO FESTIVAL & POKER RUN 9/03/04-9/04/04 in Natchitoches, La.
Zydeco music, Louisiana cuisine, fun and games. All events take place on the downtown riverbank on the scenic Cane River Lake. Call 800-259-1714 for information.

Dog Hill Zydeco Party in Lake Charles, La Monday 9/6/04 from 11am-midnight
This will be held at the VFW Hall that is located at 1900 Country Club Road (at intersection of Nelson Rd in Lake Charles, Louisiana.
$12 adults, children 12 and under free
Good Food and Cold Beverages will be sold
11am-til late Rain or Shine

Detailed Directions

Directions for: Southwest Louisiana Zydeco Music Festival in Plaisance, La
Held at the Zydeco Festival Site at 457 Zydeco Road off Hwy 167
in the Plaisance community near Opelousas, LA
which is 25 miles north of Lafayette.
Travel north on I-49 from Lafayette.
Exit right at Ville Platte Exit #23 (4 mi north of Opelousas).
At the stop sign, turn left on Hwy 167 North.
Continue straight approximately 7.5 miles. Look for sign on the right hand side.
Turn right on gravel road (Zydeco Road).
Drive straight to the back.
Festival site is located at the end of the road.

Held at the Yambilee Hall at 1939 W. Landry Street in
Opelousas, Louisiana which is about 25 miles north of Lafayette.


Directions for: Creole Zydeco Festival in St. Martinville, La.

Take Hwy 90 south from Lafayette.
Take St.Martinville/Cade exit.
Take left at stop sign.
Take left on Hwy 96.
Continue down Hwy 96 to St. Martinville.
Take right at intersection of Martin Luther King
(red light) and Hwy 96 (Terrace Rd).
Continue down Martin Luther King (about one mile)
until you get to Adam Carlson Dr.
Turn right and continue to the park.
Watch for signs.

at Thomas and Genva Fields' Homestead, Mire, La.
Take I-10 West from Lafayette
Take Mire/Duson Exit #92.
Take a right at stop sign heading north on Hwy 95.
Continue past the four-way stop.
Take the first gravel road on the left (Ozark Dr)
Continue down the gravel road until you come to a deep
curve (property with a white pipe fence).
That's it - you'll see the driveway to the left after making the curve.

From Lafayette go west on I-10 to Lake Charles
Take I-10 to the I-210 bypass
From I-210, take the Nelson Rd Exit.
Turn left onto Nelson Rd.
Go on Nelson To Country Club Rd.
Turn right onto Country Club Rd.
The VFW will be on your right. Not even 100 yds.
