Baton Rouge area high school teachers

Hi, this is Clarence. If you are a Baton Rouge area high school teacher, please contact me to let me know if there is any interest in putting together a Cajun dance for students at your school.

I was thinking that maybe we could get BREC involved and sponsor a 2004 High School Cajun dance event for high school students.

We could get a Cajun band that consists of high school age musicians and have a dance at a VFW or American Legion hall. It would be open to all students of any Baton Rouge area high school. It would be supervised and free of alcohol, drugs, and smoking.

We can arrange for Cajun dance lessons during the event. No partners needed. I have done these before with fun group mixers type of dances. We can add in fun games such as crawfish races. It would be a non-profit event that would expose our kids to Cajun music and dance.

We could possibly get French studies students and social groups to help organize this.

If there seems to be some interest in this, I will approach BREC about sponsoring a Spring High School students Cajun dance. What do you think? If you are interested in this, please email me at [email protected]
