This is Clarence's list of Baton Rouge Christmas events. I have included information about various events in Baton Rouge La. The Baton Rouge Christmas parade is a lot of fun. Also, Baton Rouge ice skating is a favorite activity. In addition to ice skating in Baton Rouge, I have included information about the Baton Nutcracker. One of the popular christmas events in Baton Rouge is the Festival of Lights near North Blvd and the Baton Rouge River Center. A lot of the Christmas events are located in downtown Baton Rouge. 4) Historical Holidays At BREC's Magnolia Mound
will be on Dec 14, 2008 at BREC's Magnolia Mound Plantation, 2161 Nicholson Dr., will light up the holiday season by hosting an old fashioned French Creole Christmas Celebration. Join us as we celebrate vintage Christmas traditions on Dec. 14, 2008 from 3 - 6 p.m. Family fun at the plantation will include food, games, tours, live entertainment as well as traditional 19th century skill demonstrations. Magnolia Mound will provide tours throughout the month of Dec. during regular operating hours to show off traditional holiday celebration practices. This includes house decor, songs and other celebratory rituals. 5) The Festival of the Bonfires on the Mississippi River
between Baton Rouge and New Orleans are on Fri, Sat, Sun Dec 12, 13, 14, 2008. These bonfires are located on River Road through the towns of Lutcher, Paulina, and Convent. www.festivalofthebonfires.org

8) The Port Allen Bonfires on the Mississippi River
is on Saturday, December 13, 2008 at 10 p.m. The Port Allen Rivertown Christmas Festival is Downtown on the Riverfront and features a Parade, Bonfire, Fireworks Display Food and Entertainment.

13) LSU’s annual Candlelight Celebration
will be on Tuesday, December 2 at 4:30 PM at the Memorial Tower on the LSU campus. The highlight of the event is the lighting of the huge tree which is shipped from the northwest and placed in front of Memorial Tower. Each year the celebration includes performances by Schola Cantorum from the LSU College of Music and Dramatic Arts, the Christmas Brass Quintet, the LSU Symphony, the Joyful Noise bell choir from University Baptist Church, the "Cajun Night Before Christmas," and the symbolic kindling of the Hanukkah menorah. The music groups also lead the spectators in singing Christmas Carols. In addition, the Baton Rouge Ballet Theater will perform an excerpt from "Nutcracker." This event offers a wonderful opportunity for the University family to join with members of the Baton Rouge Community in Welcoming the Season.
